She thinks Dad will drop the divorce if he knows, but Mom says that’s why he can’t know – Dad will act sympathetic and come back, and she’ll be stuck with him. The news about this show failed to impress me even though I do like both leads…’meh, another contract marriage story.’ Was I wrong…great https://legitdatingsites.com/ characters and directing, broken tropes everywhere. TvN can do no wrong when it comes to rom-coms lately. I am a little late to the party but I thoroughly enjoyed marathoning the first few episodes. Han Groo is such a hoot and she has some of the best crazy-eyes I have seen in Kdrama heroines.
It’s a peculiar trend but as long as us viewers remain the beneficiaries….no complains here. Always wanted to check it out coz the first episode recap sounds really good and am glad I get to marathon it instead. I really started hating Se-ah somewhere in the middle, but I’m glad she was redeemed quickly. While I know a majority of you guys felt her character changed too abruptly, I think her main personality remained the same. She was still controlling but maybe focused on another target – first it was to get Ki-tae back, then it was to make Ki-tae’s life perfect. I’m glad she got her happy ending even if I really expected the father of the child to be Yeo-rim.
But as soon as he does, it rings again, and he finds over 300 calls from Jang-mi. His blind date asks Ki-tae what he’s doing, and he says he actually has someone waiting for him upstairs in a room, and he’s currently weighing his options. What’s even funnier is that he knows so well when the glass of water is coming at his face that he has time to put his phone and glasses down on the table before bracing for impact. I’m glad you’re enjoying the drama. This was one of the first Dramas I ever saw.
Such a departure for Han Groo from doing Girl K which I liked immensely. So glad this is getting recapped. Yeo-reum asks Jang-mi to dinner and when she asks when, he says, “Now.” Se-ah comes up to Ki-tae and does the same, and inside, Hyun-hee asks Hoon-dong the same thing. The question of “now” versus “sometime” lingers in the air for all three couples. A tear falls as she approaches, and she takes Hoon-dong by the wrist and leads him out of the pool.
Oasis ( Episode 3
Dad’s shocked face is so satisfying. Jang-mi pouts that Ki-tae’s proposal isn’t very romantic. Jang-mi finally cracks a smile and counters that you can’t trust men, but nevertheless, she wants to trust Ki-tae. Outside, Ki-tae hugs Jang-mi and tells her to go see her mom, and he’ll stay with Dad. She says sadly that their bet is over since her parents will never see eye-to-eye, but Ki-tae still has hope.
I watched MLSS at the height of my Hyun Bin obsession and still didn’t like it. I think the main reason is how abrasive Sam Soon’s character was. I found her attitude and even her body language very unlikeable. I finished the drama hoping that I will begin to sympathize with her as I get to know her better but that didn’t happen.
Marriage, Not Dating Episode 1
This relationship may seem to be inappropriate and lacking in chemistry to outsiders. But for the people involved they are starting to love each other and are discovering the depth of their feelings. But she said it was wonderful he said that. We also saw her throughout this episode calling, texting and whining about how she would like an excuse to go see him in Sokcho. Her actions were screaming out that she’s crazy about him and she isn’t even bothering to hide it from him anymore.
I agree that the big weakness in this show were the second leads, Se Ah and YR. Neither one of these characters were written particularly well – their motives were fuzzy, and they hanged allegiances and directions without notice or reason. But the acting was also very poor – both characters were played by idols, with little acting experience, and it showed. Both of them were more concerned with looking good than showing some real emotion, and neither of them were able to give any unspoken clues about their character. I got so sick of their plastic, enigmatic smiles. I understood the rest of the characters, I felt like they were real people, and then there was Ken and Barbie.
And yay for a show that uses more than the main leads in an effective way. I still wouldn’t say all characters were likable or well-developed and used as in my other favorite show of the season, High School King of Savvy. I liked the portrayal of the leads and their families best here – including grandma, aunt, even sleazy dad and his mistress. Hoon-dong was funny once you get past the first few episodes where he was quite repulsive – and he did get his comeuppance in the shape of his wife (insert evil grin here). His wife and mother I didn’t much care for. Se-ah and Yeo-rum I cared for even less except for during the beach escapade.
She’s touched that he sold the place she hated so much, but holds onto her pride and says she’s glad she got sick, because he finally left after she was ill. He yells that he never wanted a divorce, and he’s angry that she didn’t tell him she was sick. Jang-mi climbs into bed with her mom and promises to be her life partner and never leave her.
And this drama, I think is the current best romantic comedy drama. I kept checking Dramabeans several times a day hoping this would get recapped. I’d even resorted to leaving notes in other threads “hinting” if this could be recapped. I’ve been loving this show & had no one to talk about it with.
